Tadami Line Resumes Full Operation After 11 Years

As of October 1st 2022, the Tadami Line has resumed full service, after 11 years of repair efforts brought about by torrential rains in 2011. The line is known for its stunning scenery throughout the seasons, though perhaps the most popular time to visit is November, during the height of autumn’s changing leaves. The line bridges Koide Station in Niigata prefecture with the castle town of Aizu-Wakamatsu in Fukushima prefecture, traipsing through the lush forests and serene valleys that run between them.
