Toyooka City has been selected as part of the 2021 Top 100 Destination Sustainability Stories!

【Partners Information】On October 5th, 2021, it was announced that Toyooka City's Good Practice Story has been selected as one of the Top 100 Destination Sustainability Stories. Every year, the Top 100 Destination Sustainability Stories competition collects sustainable tourism stories and good practices from destinations all over the world to be shared as inspiring examples to tourism professionals and travelers. 

 

The 2021 selection of the Good Practice Stories included Toyooka City, with the story “How One City Brought Back Storks from Extinction by Restoring a Sustainable Environment”. Toyooka was the last place where oriental white storks were spotted in Japan in 1971. Since then, the city has set out to create a town where both storks and people can live together again.
