At the Nebuta Museum WA-RASSE, you can admire powerful and massive Nebuta floats up close that were used in past Aomori Nebuta Festivals. This festival, held every year from August 2nd–7th, attracts over two million visitors annually with its colorful doll-shaped lanterns on carts called Nebuta (large floats) that festival participants parade through the streets at night. In addition to witnessing the Nebuta floats, you can also experience the festival atmosphere through Nebuta Hayashi music and performances. You even have opportunities to play the music and dance as haneto (dancer). There are English subtitles on the videos that the museum broadcasts every 30 minutes, allowing you to learn more about the Nebuta Festival.
