Arita ware

Led by an English-speaking guide, the Arita Ware Treasure Hunt Tour is an immersive experience that allows participants to visit Arita's workshops, where they can learn about the manufacturing techniques of Arita ware in detail, and observe the works of skilled artisans firsthand. Following the workshop visits, the tour leads guests on an exciting treasure hunt to find deadstock ceramics. Through this experience, participants can deeply explore the history and production process of Arita ware while enjoying the thrill of discovering retro pieces to take home.

Local Insights

My name is Toshiki Otsuka. Since 2015, I have been involved in discovering and creating experiential content for tourism revitalization projects in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture. I also collaborate with Arita Town and the Arita Chamber of Commerce and Industry on hometown tax donation programs (Furusato Nouzei) to share the region's traditional industries with the world.
