A peaceful corner of Japan for your island hopping adventure.

Oki Islands UNESCO Global Geopark

Designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark, and also a part of the Daisen-Oki National Park, the Oki Islands are a hidden treasure perfect for your outdoor adventures. Located off the coast of Shimane, the four islands are surrounded by exceptionally clear waters. This makes them an ideal place for marine activities, such as sea kayaking and snorkeling. You can enjoy the breathtaking coastal scenery from the water, or if you prefer, you can follow the coast on land through hiking or cycling routes.

In addition to their rugged coastline, the islands feature beautiful mountains and forests. Climb on an e-bike, a mountain bike with an electric motor to assist you on those hills, and you will find an island breeze and local views waiting for you. Explore the landscape formed by volcanic activity long ago. Visit the waterfalls, local shrines, or a mountain with a sweeping view. Cows and horses are kept on the islands, and you may see them grazing along the way.

The clear waters of the Oki Islands offer another treasure―fresh-caught seafood, which you can enjoy in numerous places across the islands to complete your outdoor island adventure.
