A taste of spiciness nurtured by the unspoiled nature of Mt. Sanbe National Park
Oda City Tourism Association
Taste spiciness blessed by nature. Sanbe wasabi grows in crystal-clear water from the springs of Mt. Sanbe. Its rich flavor is simultaneously zesty, mellow, and refreshing with elements of sweetness. Tours of the wasabi fields are also available.
Next to the wasabi field is a table in the middle of a forest cleared by a wasabi farmer. There, you can feel nature with all five senses, surrounded by the sound of birds and the wind.
How to get there
Fly to Izumo Airport, 1 hour 30 minutes from Haneda Airport by plane. From Izumo Airport, take a bus to JR Izumo-shi Station (1 hour 30 minutes) and get on a train to JR Oda-shi Station (1 hour). Next, board an Iwami Kotsu Bus (Yamaguchi Line) from JR Oda-shi Station to Kita-sanbe-hoiku-en-mae (30 minutes). The wasabi farm is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
