A winter fantasy trip through a world of snow

DAY 1

Your journey starts in Kanazawa, the ancient capital of gold. It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Osaka and Kyoto by express train. Upon arrival, rent a kimono. Wearing a beautiful kimono will make you feel like a new person, both in spirit and in appearance. Afterwards, take a stroll in your kimono through Higashi Chaya-gai, where townhouses line up along the street and oozes with the authentic atmosphere of Japan. Don't forget to try creating your own original craftwork with gold leaf!

DAY 2

On the second day, the tour bus will take you from Kanazawa Station to Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At a spot overlooking the village with its iconic triangular-roofed houses, you will be captivated by the picturesque scenery and the original landscape of Japan. Moving on to the mountain town, Hida Takayama, you will take a break at Sanmachi Street, where the historic streets are still intact. Enjoy take-away gourmet food and an old Japanese-style cafe. End the day with some shopping and a taste of hand-baked rice crackers at a rice cracker specialty shop!

DAY 2 ANOTHER ROUTE

On the second day, you will take a day trip bus tour to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawa-go. At a spot overlooking the village with its iconic triangular-roofed houses, let your eyes feast on the picturesque scenery and the original landscape of Japan.

DAY 3

After checking out of the hotel, you will have the opportunity to experience martial culture and the townspeople's culture in Kanazawa. You will see a Japanese sword, and can take a photo of yourself wearing a hakama and holding a mock sword. After that, you will head to Awara Onsen in Fukui. Take a stroll through the hot spring resort area, where inns stand neatly in the tranquil countryside. After checking into the hotel, take another trip to Tojinbo, with its rugged rock formations and columnar joints. A spectacular cruise on a sightseeing boat will no doubt overwhelm you with the dynamic nature of the area.

DAY 4

From Awara Yunomachi Station, take the Echizen Railway for about 1.5 hours to Katsuyama Station. For families, you can bring your children to the Dinosaur Museum and Dinosaur Forest Park that offer a fossil excavation experience. Using the tools to successfully excavate the rocks brought from the excavation site is such an exciting experience. Afterwards, head to Eiheiji Temple, with its majestic and impressive atmosphere. Learn about Zen through valuable experiences, such as Zen meditation, Sanro and Sutra copying.
