A Dog Lover’s Paradise
Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Tsukuba Wan Wan Land is a doggie theme park that’s not difficult to spot, thanks to the large dog statues that tower over the surroundings!
‘Wan wan’ is the Japanese version of ‘woof woof’, and at Wan Wan Land, you can get up close and personal with lots of different pooches. With hundreds of dogs from about 80 breeds, there’s no shortage of pups of all sizes to interact with, including local breeds like Shiba and Akita. You can even take the dog of your choice out for a walk or simply play with them. See pooches perform tricks like catching hoops or skipping ropes at the “Doggie Dream Show” or watch the raw energy of these canines as they race each other through obstacles.
Wan Wan Land also has a large area dedicated to cats! About 90 cats inhabit the park, making it the biggest cat facility in the Kanto area where you can get up close and play with adorable kitties.
