One of the most memorable and unique dining experience in Tokyo would be the "TREE by NAKED yoyogi park", where they take the art of dining to a whole new level!
Renowned in Japan for their state-of-the art projection-mapping art installations, from Sapporo’s “NAKED FLOWERS 2021 – SAKURA – World Heritage Site Nijo-jo Castle” to the seasonal art installations of Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa, Tokyo-based creative company NAKED, INC. also runs the exclusive “TREE by NAKED yoyogi park” art gastronomy cafe in Tokyo’s historic Yoyogi Park.
The restaurant is known for its interactive VR and projection-mapping dinner courses. Using their futuristic technology, this experience based art restaurant delivers a multi-sensory dining experience, merging meals with specialised lighting, music, smoke, scents, and installation art. Each course is treated like a chapter in a story, where projection mapping makes food on plates seem to come alive. The team of artists behind this unique curation includes a resident artist, a chef, a botanist, and even a kodo drum master.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, all courses are limited to 4 customers a day. Diners can try their 7-course multi-sensory Japanese-style fusion dinner, or their vegan lunch course, where creative dishes are served alongside sauces contained in test tubes. Featuring 11 French-inspired dishes, diners are treated to a projection mapping display that transports them to a rainforest filled with waterfalls.
You can also sample their seasonal baked goods on the first and second-floor cafe; the autumn menu consists of specialties like TREE canelé (with purple sweet potato), Mont Blanc Cream Brulee, and Shine Muscat Millefeuille.
Both the lunch and dinner courses are available exclusively by reservation only via their official website, with lunch from 11.30am (Fri-Sun) and dinner from 7.15pm (Fri and Sat).
