FUKUSHIMA: GOSHIKINUMA SNOWSHOE TREKKING

the mysterious colored lakes of Goshikinuma

Mysterious colors shine against a canvas of white

Trek in snowshoes toward the mysterious colored lakes of Goshikinuma, shining against a backdrop of white snow. Goshikinuma's (Five Colored Lakes) sightseeing paths, bustling with tourists in the green season, are mysteriously empty during the snowy winter season. Mokumoku Nature School's original course will guide you to winter-only sights such as Kuronuma (black pond) and a spot where the colors of Aonuma (blue pond) look the most beautiful, accessible only over the snow. The snowshoes will help you walk without sinking into the deep snow. The tour can be enjoyed by both first-time snowshoe trekkers as well as seniors. Come prepared in water-resistant clothes (such as ski wear), gloves, and snow boots.

Tour time: 2.5 hours

ACCESS: 25 min drive/bus from JR Inawashiro Station

'Moku-Moku Nature Centre'

Business hours:  9:00 - 20:00

Address: 1092-38 Hibara-onogawa-hara, Kita-Shiohara-mura, Yamagun, Fukushima Pref.
