The Iwate Snow Festival is one of Tohoku’s prominent Snow Festivals. There are 6 different venues where visitors could check out. The snow festival is primarily held at Iwate Kogen Snow Park in February when the winter season is at its peak. There are displays of snow sculptures, entertaining stage performances, fun maze experiences and snow slides that visitors could enjoy. Stalls serving hot local food and beverages would keep one’s body warm during the cold winter. For a unique experience, savour a delectable meal inside a kamakura (ice igloo).
