Stepping into Toei Kyoto Studio Park feels like you’re stepping back in time – this theme park recreates a small town from the Edo period, featuring a collection of traditional buildings that are regularly used for filming historical movies and period dramas (jidaigeki films). Park attendants dressed in historic costumes add to the period atmosphere, and you can join in by walking around the park in rented traditional costumes – take this opportunity to become a samurai, geisha or ninja!
In addition to experiencing a number of shows like ninja performances, filming demonstrations, and a haunted house, you can also get to enjoy Toei’s superhero shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.
Not only that, over here, you can also visit the new Evangelion Kyoto Base, where you can actually step into an Evangelion humanoid robot to battle mysterious enemies called Angels. Have your photos taken next to a 15m-tall giant EVA replica and experience what it feels like to be an Evangelion by sitting in the cockpit to measure your Synch Rate with the EVA!
