Enjoy a Stay in a Traditional Japanese Style House

Spectacular views of terraced rice paddies from Cominca Furosen, a renovated traditional house in Hiroshima

Furosen welcomes you to a nearly 100-year-old kominka, or traditional Japanese-style house located in Shobara, a hidden village in Hiroshima Prefecture, where according to legend, was inhabited by hermits. While Furosen has been renovated to suit the needs of modern travelers, its traditional architecture and spirit have been lovingly preserved, making it the perfect place for a peaceful stay in breathtaking natural scenery with a stunning view of rice paddy terraces.

The house offers one bedroom and two classic tatami rooms, along with a full-scale kitchen and dining room, a living area where family and friends can spend quality time together, and a veranda to relax and fully relish the privacy of the surrounding nature in any of the four beautiful seasons of the year. Refresh in a comfortably modernized bath before taking in a luxurious garden view under the starry night sky.

Furosen provides a chance to leave a hectic life behind and come to a place of nature and tradition where time stands still. Don’t worry, however—free WiFi means that you’ll be able to connect with the outside world if necessary.

Access: From Tokyo Haneda Airport, fly to Hiroshima Airport (about 1 hour and 25 minutes); take a rental car or taxi to Furosen (about 1 hour and 20 minutes). Due to its remote location, public transport options are limited and will take considerable time.
