Strawberry Picking in Tajimi

HOME > Japan’s Local Treasures > Strawberry Picking in Tajimi

Enjoy strawberry picking amidst the beautiful Satoyama landscape

Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture

The strawberry farm “Tsuzuhara Ee-no-o” is surrounded by a beautiful woodland landscape in the suburb of Tajimi City, Gifu. “Ee-no-o” is a dialect term meaning “It’s good, isn’t it?”—an appropriate name indeed, given that eating strawberries at Tsuzuhara will bring a smile to your face. Tsuzuhara is one of the biggest tourist-friendly strawberry farms in Gifu and is known for its large and delicious locally grown Akihime strawberries, which are sweet and pleasant to the palate, attracting lots of visitors every year.

We also recommend that you try the strawberry parfait full of sweet strawberries at the cafe next door. You can enjoy strawberry picking from early December to May and blueberry picking in summer. For more information and to make a reservation, please check the website.

Tajimi City is easily accessible from Nagoya (only 35 minutes via JR train)and offers you an enjoyable way to spend your day, including delicious local cuisine, museums, and galleries of Minoyaki pottery.

How to get there

From Nagoya Station, take the train to JR Tajimi Station (about 35 minutes). From there, take a bus or taxi (about 15 minutes).
