Guided tour in a special mountain area that requires accompaniment by certified guides
Goshikigahara Forest is an expansive woodland area spreading across approximately 3,000 hectares on the western foothills of Mt. Norikura. Its diverse terrain, shaped by volcanic activity, and the abundant precipitation brought from the Sea of Japan have created numerous waterfalls and ponds, which are home to a rich variety of rare plants and animals. In this forest, which remained untouched by development for many years, trekking routes have been established and tours are operated where participation with a guide is required. To protect the environment, there is a strict limit on the number of visitors per day, and eco-friendly toilets have been installed with purification systems powered by hydroelectric energy in the mountain huts. The aim is to offer a sustainable eco-tour that does not harm the current natural environment.
