A guided walking tour along a historical cobblestone highway in Hakone
Walk a section of the Old Tokaido Road, a route that connected Kyoto and Tokyo during the Edo period (1603–1867). This section known as the Hakone Hachiri is a registered Japanese Heritage Site. The preserved historical cobblestone road is lined with 400-year-old giant Japanese cedars. This hiking tour will stop at Hatajuku, a village known for woodworking, and Amasake Chaya, a traditional Japanese teahouse that was established four centuries ago. After tea, you will walk along the banks of Lake Ashinoko with beautiful views of Mount Fuji before making your way to the restored Hakone Checkpoint, through Onshi Hakone Park.
