Enjoy views of Mount Fuji from this scenic ridgeline trail
The beauty of Mount Amagi was Japanese author Kawabata Yasunari’s inspiration for his 1924 short story, “The Dancing Girl of Izu.” Experience the mountain's charms for yourself on a hike through its serene Japanese beech forests, bamboo grasses and fields, looking out across Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay and Mount Daruma.
The trail takes you through Amagi Tunnel, a stone tunnel built in 1905, and Hatcho Pond, located at an altitude of 1,125 meters. In spring, the trail blooms with cherry blossoms. In autumn, enjoy the colorful seasonal foliage along the trail.
