Refresh and Recharge in a Forest Sauna

Parks Overview Parks Overview

Enjoy a sauna in the natural surrounds of Shirataki Forest

Shirataki Forest once served as a training ground for shugenja, or ascetic monks, who practiced a form of mountain worship known as shugendo. It is the only place in Iseshima where you can experience meditation under a waterfall. A special sauna tent has been installed in the quiet forest, allowing participants to sweat away their cares as they enjoy the natural surrounds. It is also an ideal way to warm up after a waterfall meditation experience. The sauna tent can be reserved by one group, and swimsuits are all that is needed. The forest is just a 10-minute walk from Funatsu Station on the Kintetsu Railway Line.
