Explore the beautiful beaches of Zamamijima Island and Akajima Island through various activities like cycling, swimming, snorkeling and diving. Their white, sandy shores border a gorgeous blue ocean affectionately named the "Kerama Blue." All kinds of brightly colored fish inhabit the coral reefs at these three beaches.

You can explore these underwater wonderlands using nothing more than a life jacket and snorkeling gear. If you're looking for a some relaxation, these beaches are lovely places to lounge, and evenings transform them into excellent stargazing locations. Lifeguards are on duty at the beaches from late April until early November.

Furuzamami Beach offers fantastic views of several of Keramashoto's islands to the south. Here you can enjoy views of vivid corals and tropical fish right from the shore, as the shallows drop off quickly. The Michelin Green Guide awarded the area two stars for its pristine nature and scenery. Furuzamami Beach is a 20-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride from Zamami Port to the east.

From Ama Beach, you can see the uninhabited islands of Agenashikujima and Gahijima. The calm, shallow waters are ideal for children, and you may have the chance to swim with the sea turtles that call the area home. If you spot a sea turtle, do not approach it or chase it. Protect the turtles' safety and habitat by watching from a distance. The nearby Ama Beach Campgrounds offer shade during the day. Ama Beach is a 20-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride from Zamami Port to the west.

The powdery sands of Nishibama Beac

Nishibama Beach is a gorgeous stretch of white sand that runs along the northeastern shore of Akajima Island. The waters around the beach are home to a diverse array of corals and tropical fish species, and the area is very popular with divers. The large deck at Nishibama Terrace provides visitors with shade and a place to relax while enjoying the beach. Nishibama Beach is a 20-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride from Aka Port.
