Zamami Whale Watching Association

Discover the world of the magnificent humpback whale

Enjoy an exciting and environmentally friendly aquatic experience with the Zamami Whale Watching Association. The association was founded in 1991 to promote humpback whale conservation through whale watching. Book a boat tour, learn more about whales, and stock up on whale-themed souvenirs at the Zamami Village Whale Watching Association's office near Zamami Port.

During a whale watching tour, the association's experienced boat captains will get you close to the whales while following the rules established by the whale watching association to protect whales. Humpback whales migrate to the Kerama Islands during winter (late December to April) to breed and raise their calves, so you may see the whales exhibit mating behavior, which includes breaching and tail slaps.
