Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese dance theater. The people of Hinoemata Village developed their own unique form of kabuki about 270 years ago, and it is now recognized as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. At this makeup workshop, you will learn how to apply Hinoemata kabuki stage makeup in detail from members of the local kabuki troupe, followed by a photo session on stage.
