Rebun Island, Japan’s northernmost island. Go on a leisurely walk as an expert guide tells you about the island’s more than 300 varieties of cold climate alpine plants.
Cold climate alpine plants can only survive at altitudes of 2,000 meters or more on the main island of Honshu, and even on Hokkaido, only at 1,500 meters or more above sea level. On Rebun Island, however, they can be seen in full bloom near the shoreline. And the island is home to more than 300 varieties. As you enjoy a leisurely walk, an expert guide will tell you all about them. Wireless tour guide receivers will be provided, ensuring you won’t have to strain your ears to hear what your guide is saying. Magnifying glasses will also be provided so you can see the island’s tiny but beautiful flowers in detail. Finally, participants will be given a booklet on local flowers.
