Forest Bathing from a Canoe on the Toyohira River

Parks Overview Parks Overview

A guided canoe tour on the Toyohira River where you can bathe in the forested landscape of Jozankei Onsen

Fill your lungs with refreshing forest air from the seat of your canoe. Shinrin-yoku means "forest bathing" and is the modern Japanese concept of refreshing and recharging by spending time in the forest. This tour combines forest bathing with canoeing as you paddle down the Toyohira River surrounded by the forested landscape of the Jozankei hot springs area. Quietly watch for wildlife, stop and have a swim, or explore interesting riverside plants. Professional guides teach all participants the basics of canoeing, so this tour is open to beginners.
