Winter in Shiretoko offers great opportunities to observe wildlife, including Steller's sea eagles, woodpeckers, other birds, Ezo flying squirrels, and Ezo deer. Snowshoe to the cliffs and waterfalls at Cape Shiretoko on the Sea of Okhotsk. The trail is reasonably flat, and suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Depending on the time of year, you may see frozen waterfalls and drift ice off the coast.
