Explore the UNESCO Natural World Heritage site of Shiretoko with a registered guide
Shiretoko National Park is a beautiful landscape of lakes and forests surrounded by the Sea of Okhotsk. The park is the site of Mount Rausu, one of Japan's most famous mountains, and home to the brown bear. This guided walking tour brings visitors around the Shiretoko Five Lakes area, which has an abundance of Sakhalin fir and mizunara trees, as well as bamboo grass. A short and long course are available, lasting 90 minutes or three hours, respectively. From mid-May to July, when the brown bears are more active, tour participants will receive special safety briefings before setting out with their specialist guide. Experience the beauty of this World Heritage site on a relaxing stroll through the lakes and forests.
