Obama Onsen, in the foothills of Mount Unzen, is famous for its hot spring sources which yield some of the hottest spring water in Japan. Learn about the hot springs, the geological history of the area, and daily life in proximity of an active volcano, on a tour led by a geopark-certified guide. As you visit key sights you will search for clues to reveal the secrets of the town and its hot springs. At the end of the tour, you can soak your feet in a hot spring footbath and try steaming eggs and vegetables in the town's geothermal waters.
