Experience the unique atmosphere of the forests of Yambaru, a place rich in biodiversity where pitch-black night gives rise to a star-filled sky, on this environmental monitoring tour.
Led by a dedicated guide versed in the local nature, history, and culture, participants use a specialized GPS tracker to explore and conduct a monitoring survey of the World Natural Heritage site-designated forests of Yambaru. Participants engage in monitoring while traveling by provided vehicle, then conduct surveys on foot after reaching a survey site. When a participant finds a rare wild animal or plant, he or she logs the GPS information, time, and a photo. In general, the survey sites are on well-maintained forest roads, so participants do not have to worry about exceptionally muddy conditions, etc.
