Take a stroll through a two-kilometer long pink tunnel of cherry blossoms

Fukui Prefecture

Along the banks of Asuwa River, which runs through the center of Fukui City, you will find some 600 cherry blossom trees. In spring, when in full bloom, they form a pink tunnel for visitors to stroll through, considered to be some of the best scenery in Japan. This site and the nearby Asuwayama Park, is listed among Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. A cherry blossom festival is held when the trees bloom, and the area becomes a popular destination for locals and travelers alike. The cherry blossoms here are in season from late March to early April.

How to get there

Take the express train from Shin-Osaka Station to Fukui Station for about 1 hour and 50 minutes. The Asuwa River Cherry Blossoms are a 15-minute walk from the station.
