Fukui | Asuwa River Cherry Blossoms

Stroll through a pink tunnel of cherry blossoms over 2 km long

Along the banks of Asuwa River, which runs through the center of Fukui City, you will find some 600 cherry blossom trees. In spring, when in full bloom, they form a pink tunnel of cherry blossoms for visitors to stroll through and the incredible scenery is considered by some to be Japan’s finest. This site, alongside the nearby Asuwayama Park, is listed among Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. A Cherry Blossom Festival is held when the trees bloom, and the area becomes a popular destination for locals and travelers alike.
Blossom season: late March to early April
