A refreshing bicycle ride along the countryside scenery of Shimanto River

Kochi Prefecture

The Shimanto River flowing in the western part of Kochi Prefecture is said to be the last of Japan’s crystal-clear rivers. There are many ways to enjoy this river, such as doing outdoor activities like canoeing, SUP, and even going on a river cruising houseboat known as “yakatabune.” However, did you know that cycling is also popular? Even if you are not an advanced cyclist, but just someone who wants to have fun, you can. The bicycle rental service Shimanto Rin Rin Cycle makes cycling along the Shimanto River easy and convenient. You can rent and return bicycles at any of the seven terminals located between the midstream and downstream area of the river! The tranquil forests and countryside scenery await you along the majestically flowing Shimanto River. Don’t forget to cross Shimanto River’s iconic submersible bridge, the Chinkabashi! Your ride will be fairly easy as the roads are mostly flat. Enjoy the river breeze and countryside view with all five senses at your own leisurely pace.
