It's Marigold Season at Nokonoshima Island Park

You can enjoy flowers throughout the seasons at Nonokonoshima Island Park in Fukuoka! From early May-late July, a popular free marigold picking event will be held, where you can take home as many large-flowered rare marigold seedlings as you like (however, please be advised that visitors are encouraged to bring their own plastic bag!)

Later in the summer, from mid-July to mid-August, the park will also be allowing visitors a chance to take one sunflower home with them for free! If you’re wondering how best to transport it, perhaps the most popular way to bring these home is in a cute vase, improvised from the leftover glass bottle of Nokonoshima’s original sodas. You can grab some seeds to test out your green thumb, or just bask among the island park's various instagrammable flower fields.
