Where to Go This Fall? Three Autumn Foliage Selections in Boso peninsula

The Boso area of Chiba Prefecture is a region with a mild climate and an abundance of nature, including oceans, rivers, and mountains. The area is easily accessible from central Tokyo and Narita Airport, and the beautiful autumn foliage usually starts to color the area from mid-November onward.

🍁Kanno-ji Temple

Kanto’s oldest and most famous temple, founded about 1,400 years ago by “Shotoku Taishi,” the author of Japan’s first constitution. It is a famous place for viewing the autumn leaves and historic halls, which together create a beautiful and uniquely Japanese scene.

🍁Lake Kameyama

There are as many as 25 bridges around the lake, and from one of them, “Ozuki Bridge,” you can see the autumn leaves upstream and downstream and be surrounded by a 360-degree view of the leaves. A scenic boat ride is also recommended while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the “Iwanoue Bridge” and the autumn leaves reflected on the lake.

🍁Yoro Gorge Awamata Falls

The largest waterfall in the prefecture with a drop of approximately 30 meters and a total length of approximately 100 meters, and Kannon Bridge, with its arch like the body of a drum and vermilion-lacquered railings, are spectacular when matched with the autumn leaves.
