Experience the natural wonders and unique culture of Amakusa with a local guide

Kamiamakusa City

Located in the center of Kyushu, southwest of Kumamoto, and part of the Unzen-Amakusa National Park, Amakusa is a coastal region consisting of approximately 120 islands of various sizes. Blessed with scenic views, beautiful sea, and diverse, rich ecosystems, the archipelago has a geological history going back 100 million years and is the natural habitat of wild dolphins. Amakusa was also one of Japan's main centers of Christianity and is home to a fascinating culture that still lives on today.

Based in Kamiamakusa City, the gateway to Amakusa, Meister Guides Kamiamakusa provides fully guided sightseeing experiences that will take you deep into the culture, history, and nature of Amakusa. Their professional guides are locals who know the area like the back of their hand, and each of them is a “master” in a specific field.

Among the many activities available are city tours, cycling, trekking, sea kayaking, agricultural experiences, wild dolphin watching and fishing. To relieve your fatigue after a day spent outdoors, take advantage of the delectable local cuisine and luxurious hot spring baths with views of the Amakusa Archipelago.

How about traveling to Amakusa to enjoy wonderful views and experiences that will fill your heart? Just choose your favorite activity and let Meister Guides Kamiamakusa make your trip more convenient and special.
