Takaishi City

Located between Kansai Airport and the center of Osaka, the factories of Takaishi City line the waterfront creating a beautiful industrial night view.

During a time of rapid economic growth, this area developed into an industrial complex. There are many chemical factories and refineries in the waterfront area, with Takaishi's industrial shipment volume the fifth largest in Osaka.

The city has gained popularity as a destination in recent years where visitors come to take in the breathtaking nighttime scenery. While driving on the expressway to or from Kansai Airport, you can see the brightly lit factories and intricate, weaving pipes, crossing and lining over each other from across the ocean.

The Takaishi Chamber of Commerce also holds industrial night view tours every year. This popular bus tour includes a three hour photographic lecture by a professional photographer demonstrating how best to capture the factories at night as well as the surrounding area, and also provides the opportunity to visit inside one of the industrial facilities.

How to get there

Take a Nankai train to Hagoromo Station (about 30 minutes from Kansai Airport/ about 15 minutes from Namba Station). Take a taxi from Hagoromo Station (about 10 minutes).
