According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Typhoon Krosa (Typhoon No.10) made landfall in western Japan yesteday, and is now moving north-northeast expected to bring heavy rain in Tohoku and Hokkaido regions from this evening until tomorrow. Travelers visiting Japan are advised to monitor local weather reports, follow directions from local officials and take other appropriate actions as needed.
JR Hokkaido has announced there will be cancellations on train services on August 16th - 17th. There may also be delays and partial cancellations of train services in Tohoku area due to weather conditions.
