'Hohoemi-no-Yato: Taki-no-yu' : Tendo Hot-Springs (Yamagata)

Tendo City, the home of 'Shogi' (Japanese chess) is located in southern Yamagata prefecture

Located in southern Yamagata prefecture, Tendo City is not only the home of 'Shogi' (Japanese chess), but also boasts soothing hot springs, some of the Tohoku region's most beautiful cherry blossoms, as well as delicious fruit - especially grapes and cherries. Tendo is also well located with direct access to Yamagata airport and just a short 30 drive from major attractions such as Yamadera and Yamagata City. 'Taki-no-yu' is one of the most popular hot-spring resorts in the area, boasting a wide range of rooms including five high-end suites featuring private baths. The dinner menu features local specialties like a comparison of A4 grade Yamagata and Yonezawa wagyu beef varieties, as well as fresh local seafood from the Japan Sea coastline of the Prefecture. Throughout the year, the hotel offers special deals that include local fruit-picking experiences. Currently, they offer a plan that includes a voucher for strawberry picking at an orchard in nearby Sagae City. During the summer season, the hotel also offers a special morning cherry-picking program at nearby fruit orchard 'Ohsho Fruit Orchard'. Guests can enjoy an extravagant 30 minutes of all-you-can-eat cherries, straight from the tree!
