YAMAGATA: VEGETABLE HARVEST...IN THE SNOW?

Vegetable in wintertime in TsunokawanoSato

A trully local experience exclusive to wintertime in Tsunokawa-no-Sato

The region has cultivated a tradition of preserving and eating vegetables from under the snow since long ago due to the immense amount of snow fall. The harsh snow conditions bring out the sweet deliciousness of the vegetables when harvested from under the snow and eaten. This adventure offers a chance to actually harvest and eat the wonderful Tsunokawa turnips only found as a traditional vegetable in the Tsunokawa district of the Mogami regions buried under mountains of snow!
