Take a guided tour through Mt. Mokoto’s extensive forests to catch a glimpse of the area’s rare wild birds, and hike to the peak to enjoy scenic views. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for spotted nutcrackers, red-flanked bluetails, Siberian chipmunks and mountain hares. As you draw near the peak of Mt. Motoko, take a breather and enjoy the view from Center House, close to the seventh station. Here you’ll see panoramas that take in the forests, mountains and sea. On a clear day, look out for floating ice in the Sea of Okhotsk.
