Open-air theater TAO-no-Oka “Skyward Stage” DRUM TAO Live performance

Parks Overview Parks Overview

Catch an unforgettable open-air performance by a Japanese drum troupe

Catch a performance by the Japanese drum and dance ensemble Drum Tao in a stunning natural setting. The outdoor stage is aptly known as the ""theater in the sky""—it sits at an elevation of 1,036 meters, overlooking the grasslands and mountains of Aso.

Drum Tao's performances highlight the linkages between traditional Japanese culture and the natural world. Before or after the show, visit Tao House to relax at the cafe or bar, learn more about the troupe through exhibitions, or admire the gallery of costumes by Junko Koshino, one of Japan's leading designers.
