Unbeatable mountain views from Japan's only two-story gondola
Ride the Shinhotaka Ropeway, Japan’s only two-story gondola, more than 1,000 meters into the mountains. The ropeway, renewed in summer 2020, is located in Okuhida Onsengo hot spring village in the Japanese Alps. Take in extraordinary views of the valley below on your way to a mountaintop observatory, where views of untouched nature in Chubusangaku National Park change with the season. In the winter, the upper station is surrounded by deep snow. From there, hiking, guided nature walking tours, snowshoeing, snow tubing and other activities are available.
