Hike through hinoki cypress and beech forests to Owakudani, where you can enjoy volcanic landscapes, views of Mount Fuji and hot-spring eggs.
This hiking course starts at the Hakone Visitor Center. The trail is wide, making it suitable for families with children. As you climb higher, you can see the types of trees along the trail changes with the altitude, from hinoki cypress to Japanese beech and tall stewartia. Upon arrival at Owakudani, expect to see steam vents, bubbling sulfur pools and excellent views. Pay a visit to the Hakone GeoMuseum before heading back down to Togendai Station via the Hakone Ropeway.
