Keramashoto National Park

The Beautiful Forests and Oceans of Keramashoto National Park

Parks Overview Parks Overview

A guided tour of some of Keramashoto's best destinations

Take in the beauty of three islands in one trip: Akajima Island, Gerumajima Island and Fukajijima Island. Bridges connect all three, and both Aka Ohashi Bridge and Geruma Bridge provide excellent views of the “Kerama Blue” waters that these islands are famous for. You may catch a glimpse of sea turtles swimming in the ocean from the bridges. As you walk the mountain trails, look out for Kerama deer, a protected species unique to the area. In spring in summer, enjoy the blossoms of Kerama azaleas and Chinese bayberry. You might spot other diverse marine life along the way, including humpback whales that migrate to the area in winter.
