A drive featuring rugged scenery, sheer cliffs and scenic ocean views
Zamamijima has several observatories, and this driving course takes in three along the island's coast. Chishi Observatory, the northernmost observatory on Zamamijima Island, is famous for its panoramic views of the ocean. Unajinosachi Observatory is perched on the island's western cliffs and is a popular spot to watch the sunset. Between them is Inazaki Observatory, a favorite in winter, when you have the opportunity to see humpback whales swimming and breaching in the waters below.
