Blooming flowers and special events throughout the year

Head to Ikoma-Kogen Flower Station and watch the surrounding highlands burst into color each spring, summer and fall. In spring, the hills come alive with the blooms of multicolored poppies. Summer sees the slopes covered in elegant rose mallows, a type of hibiscus. As summer draws to a close, a troupe of cosmos flowers takes over. Seasonal events include illuminations, fireworks displays and musical performances. Check the website or ask at the local tourist information office to find out what is happening during your visit.

Head to the souvenir shop and choose from thirty types of Japanese hand towels, called tenugui, with seasonal floral designs. Tenugui are made from flat-woven cotton cloth. At the restaurant, enjoy the delicious soft-serve ice cream while you admire the view of the surrounding flower meadows.
