Ikoma-Kogen Flower Station
Blooming flowers and special events throughout the year
Head to Ikoma-Kogen Flower Station and watch the surrounding highlands burst into color each spring, summer and fall. In spring, the hills come alive with the blooms of multicolored poppies. Summer sees the slopes covered in elegant rose mallows, a type of hibiscus. As summer draws to a close, a troupe of cosmos flowers take over. Seasonal events include illuminations, fireworks displays and musical performances. Check the website or ask at the local tourist information office to find out what’s happening during your visit.
Head to the souvenir shop and choose from thirty types of floral seasonal designs of tenugui hand towels, made from traditional Japanese flat-woven cotton cloth. At the restaurant enjoy the delicious soft-serve ice cream while you admire the view of the surrounding flower meadows. Drivers can make use of any of the one thousand parking spaces. The facility is open daily throughout the year from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
