Escape the summer heat at this high altitude campground

Secluded Sasagamine Campground (1,300 m) offers an outback getaway with a soothing climate, thanks largely to its lofty mountain setting. The campground is especially nice during the hot, humid summertime. There are sites suitable for tents, cars and motorhomes.

After you settle in, take a relaxing walk along one of two nearby woodland therapy trails. If the skies are clear when the sun goes down, the stargazing is fantastic—Sasagamine’s distance from civilization ensures that there is virtually no light pollution.

If you’re traveling light, ask for the “Tebura Camp” plan. The plan includes essential camping gear, a barbecue dinner and breakfast. Hot showers and laundry facilities make this a great place if you want to stay more than a night or two.
