Deep powder snow and the freedom to explore
Head to Hakkoda Kokusai Ski Area to enjoy wide ski and snowboard runs through deep powder snow. This ski area is located at the foot of Mount Tamoyachi in the Hakkoda Mountains.
While some lower-level ski runs are suitable for beginners, the ski area's main attractions are the slalom course and the ungroomed areas accessible from the top of the Hakkoda Ropeway. These runs allow more advanced skiers and snowboarders to discover their own routes through the powder. At Hakkoda Kokusai Ski Area's ski school, Mountain Academy, you can take lessons and book guided backcountry tours.
