After having to move online for the past two years, the Gujo Dance Festival in Gifu prefecture is finally scheduled to be back this summer!
The dance is a much-beloved tradition of over 400 years and is considered to be one of Japan’s big three Bon Odori dances, key celebrations in summer. Locals and tourists alike hop in to join the dance circle where everyone is welcomed. The dances themselves are easy to learn, and you can also follow the movements of the people around you! Get ready to dance the night away, Gujo style!
