Izu Peninsula Route

Izu Peninsula Route Izu Peninsula Route
Izu Peninsula Route Izu Peninsula Route

This 244-kilometer-long route circumnavigates Shizuoka Prefecture’s picturesque Izu Peninsula. The entire peninsula is a geopark full of varied landscapes, from beach-dotted coasts with rugged rock formations to lofty mountains, with verdant fields and gentle rivers along the way. Take this course at your own pace, and stop along the way to enjoy a relaxing soak in the area’s many hot springs, and sample fresh-caught seafood and other gourmet fare. Because it is a long-distance course, consider staying at one of the area's many hot spring inns or hotels. Much of the route sees very little traffic and has little signage, but route data can be downloaded ahead of time to make planning easier.
