Located in the eastern regions of Shimukappu village, the Mukawa River is a scenic, Class-A river that runs through the steep canyons of Akaiwa Seigankyo Gorge. Known for its turbulent currents, the Mukawa River is said to be one of the best rafting destinations in Hokkaido. Rafting through the rugged, odd-shaped red and blue rock formations in the rapid current will most definitely let you have an adrenaline-pumping experience. After a day of enjoying the thrilling activities Hokkaido offers, unwind in the hot springs and feast on the delicious local delicacies of the area.
