Hike an enchanting primeval forest on the Odaigahara Plateau

Walk an 8-kilometer trail through the immense virgin Nishi-Odai forest, where daily limits on entry and minimal facilities ensure an enchanting adventure. This primeval Japanese beech forest thrives with moss colonies and rare vegetation, making for a truly magical experience. On the trek, you will visit historical sites and have the opportunity to spot wild birds and animals.

Available Late April to early December (while Mount Odaigahara is open)
Duration 4 hours
Cost Adults: 1,000 yen, children (age 11 and under): 500 yen. 1 to 10 people can be accommodated per tour. *Paricipants must apply in advance for the entry permit. The permit will be issued once payment is made. Refunds are not available after issue. It is possible to join the tour on the day if there is vacancy.
