Located on the tip of Hakozaki Peninsula in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, Senjojiki is a scenic spot covered in massive granite rocks that look like a thousand tatami mats. A stopover point along the 1,000-km-long Michinoku Shiokaze Trail, which connects Aomori and Fukushima, Senjojiki is one of the highlights of the Sanriku Geopark and a must-visit spot where you can experience both land and sea and feel the eternal flow of time.
To explore the wonders of Senjojiki, join an oceanside trekking tour from Nebama Seaside. How to get there
From Shin-Hanamaki Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen, take a JR train to Kamaishi Station (about 1 hour and 50 minutes), then transfer to the Sanriku Railway for Unosumai Station (about 10 minutes). Nebama Seaside is 5 minutes by car from the station.
